Your Hair

Knowing your hair type and matching beneficial products ensures your hair and scalp maintains a natural, healthy balance.

At MADE FOR MAN™ When it comes to selecting haircare products, determining your hair type is important to ensure you are matching  the right products that work best for your hair. The majority of hair concerns or problems that most men experience, generally stem from simply using inferior or harsh, damaging hair products.

Hair types generally fall into the following broad categories:

  • Normal Hair:
Normal hair is shiny, supple and good looking and is the result of a well-balanced, healthy lifestyle, combined with good hair care using the right products. This type of hair is generally easy to manage and maintain with a balanced shine.=

  • Oily Hair:
Over-active sebaceous glands produce an excess quantity of sebum, which can make hair limp and oily. Many people have a naturally oily scalp, which can result in greasy hair. Fair hair is much finer than dark hair, hence is more susceptible to excess oil.

  • Dry Hair:
Dry hair looks dull and lifeless and is also more susceptible to breakage. A common cause of dry hair is dehydration. Dry hair is a condition resulting from a dry scalp and is treatable.

  • Fine Hair:
If you have fine hair, your individual strands are smaller in diameter, while coarse hair has a thicker diameter. When you run your hands through your hair, does it feel like there’s not much there? Keep in mind this does not necessarily mean you have fine hair, it may just be thin.
Having thin hair references the density of the follicles, or how close individual strands are to each other. When men are balding, the term used to describe the hair is thinning, because they have less densely populated hair in a particular area.

Hair damage is a very common hair problem, and it can affect everybody. Your hair undergoes serious damage every day due to exposure to UV rays, pollution, stress, heat styling and other factors. If hair damage is not addressed, it can lead to potential hair loss and baldness.
