Your Skincare Routine – Getting Started

Effective skincare starts with knowing your skin type, matching active natural products that are beneficial to you, and most importantly establishing your daily skincare routine.

KNOWING YOUR SKIN TYPE

Our skin types are all individual and are the result of our oil, or sebaceous activity. The degree of skin type may vary depending on many factors. It is normal to experience more than one skin type or condition at any given time depending on diet, environment, climate and lifestyle. Stress can also affect the health of your skin substantially. Factors such as emotional stress or hormone fluctuations can all lead to visible skin changes. And as we get older, our skin can also become thinner, drier and more prone to environmental damage.

It is very common to have more than one skin type or concern. Here is a quick guide to general skin type categories.

NORMAL SKIN:

No apparent oily or dry areas skin appears balanced. It is the least problematic of all skin. The complexion is supple, healthy and clear with good circulation.

DRY SKIN:

Occasional flaking of skin, no oily areas, and skin feels taut. It is more prone to develop wrinkles and fine pores and has a more pale or dull skin tone and can get irritated.

COMBINATION SKIN:

Oily generally in the central part of the face around the forehead, nose and chin. This is commonly referred to as the T-zone. There is a tendency to break out in those areas with dry and normal skin elsewhere.

OILY SKIN:

Shine appears all over the skin with no dry areas; thick and coarse with enlarged pores and a tendency to break out anywhere in spots, blemishes and acne.

MATURE SKIN:

The signs of ageing, sun damage and fine lines, wrinkles start to become more visible.

IRRITATED SKIN

Irritated and sensitised skin can be the result from using the wrong skincare products such as cleansers and exfoliants with harsh chemicals and sensitising ingredients. The best treatment is to select active skincare products containing natural, certified organic ingredients with none of the harsh chemical ingredients found in many products.

Setting out your daily skincare routine is simple as 1,2,3!

STEP 1: CLEANSING – DAY & NIGHT

Cleansing your skin day and night should be the highest priority step incorporated in your daily skincare routine. Our gentle cleansers wash away any dirt, excess oils and any environmental pollutants and residues leaving your skin nice and clean.

STEP 2: VITAMIN BOOST – DAY & NIGHT

Applied after cleansing, our vitamin infused serums are formulated with highly concentrated active beneficial ingredients to give your skin a nourishing boost. Our serums are a potent infusion of concentrated actives that work on correction and protection of your skin.

STEP 3: MOISTURISE – DAY & NIGHT

Moisturising twice daily after cleansing, toning, and applying beneficial serums should be a key step in your skin care routine—regardless of your skin type. Make sure to apply your moisturiser all the way down to your neck!

STEP 4: EYECARE – DAY & NIGHT

The skin around your eyes is more delicate than the rest of your face, and is the first part of your face that will show early signs of ageing. Our active eye care range is specifically designed to target wrinkles, crow’s feet, dark circles and puffiness.

STEP 5: ENZYME CLAY MASK – WEEKLY

Our enzyme based exfoliating mask helps calm the skin, remove dead skin cells on the skin’s surface, and reduce imperfections while drawing out the dirt, impurities, and excess oils. A weekly enzyme clay based exfoliating mask should be part of your skincare routine to replenish and rejuvenate.

Follow the step 1,2,3 guide and your skin will love you for it!
